Privacy and Cookies

Paving in Ireland is a directory of paving and driveway contractors. We keep data collection to a minimum: the details you send when you make an enquiry, and anonymous usage statistics if you agree to analytics cookies. We never sell your information.

Who We Are

This site, Paving in Ireland, is the data controller for the information described here. If you have any question about your data, or want a listing reviewed or removed, contact us through our contact page.

What We Collect and Why

Enquiry details. When you use an enquiry or contact form, we collect the name, phone number, email address and message you provide. We pass your enquiry to the paving contractor you chose so they can reply, and we keep a copy so we can help if there is a problem. The legal basis is your consent and taking steps at your request to put you in touch with a contractor.

Usage statistics. We use StatCounter to measure how the site is used, for example which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what device and browser they use. This runs on every visit, and the data is aggregated, not used to identify you personally. You can opt out by blocking cookies in your browser. If we add Google Analytics later, it is used for the same purpose.

Listing information. The contractor listings shown on this site are compiled from publicly available sources, including public Google business profiles. If you are a listed business and want your listing corrected or removed, contact us.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar storage:

• Notice acknowledgement (essential). We store that you have seen the cookie notice, so it does not show on every visit.
• StatCounter (analytics). Sets cookies to count and understand visits.
• Google Analytics (analytics, if enabled). Sets cookies such as _ga to measure usage.

We show a short cookie notice on your first visit. You can view it again any time using Cookie settings, and you can opt out of analytics cookies entirely by blocking cookies in your browser.

Who We Share It With

We only share your data where it is needed to run the service:

• The contractor you enquire with, so they can respond to you.
• Resend, which delivers enquiry emails on our behalf.
• Cloudflare, which hosts and serves the site, and provides the Turnstile bot-protection on the enquiry form.
• StatCounter (and Google Analytics if enabled), which measure site traffic.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

How Long We Keep It

Enquiry details are kept only as long as needed to pass on your enquiry and deal with any follow-up or dispute, and are then deleted. Analytics data is retained by Google and StatCounter under their own retention settings and is held in aggregate.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. You can also withdraw consent for analytics at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us through our contact page.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
